Folate is the naturally occurring form of vitamin B9, which is found in foods such as dark green, leafy vegetables (including kale, spinach, broccoli, and lettuce) and brown rice. It serves many critical functions in the human body, including many detoxification processes, the formation of DNA, and cell growth. Folate is also hugely important for a developing baby in the womb and can significantly reduce the risk of Spina Bifida.
