Your Omega-3 lists an amount of cholesterol that is, per total oil in your product, about 20 times the average amount for plant oils. Is the listed amount correct or was there a calculation error?Hi, it is correct. Whereas the primary sterols in plant oils are Phytosterols, in many algae (including the microalga used for our Omega-3) Cholesterol is the primary sterol. The level is still very low, especially in the final product.
What kind of treated water is used in the tanks? Is it potable city water? What is a basic micronutrient in your case?Hi, the water is potable but purified to ensure the correct purity and composition. The micronutrient is glucose from basic plant sources.
Hello, could you please describe more how you avoid pollution, pesticides, and contaminants in general? The website says special tanks, but what does that mean?
Thank youHi, the microalgae are grown at a specialist facility. It is a little bit like brewing bar (but rather less tasty!). This allows complete control over purity as opposed to taking microalgae from the sea.
Is there a good date on the vegan dha for kids? I want to buy the 6 month supply but have been given short dated items when I've ordered with different sites. Thanks.Hi, we manufacture regularly so it is unlikely to receive product with less than 12 months shelf-life remaining. Feel free to call Customer Services or email [email protected] to get the exact date of the latest batch in stock before ordering.
I've read articles stating omega 3 supplements can raise cholesterol levels, both LDL and HDL. Is this the case with your omega 3 supplement and/or have there been any studies with your omega 3 supplement specifically regarding cholesterol?Hi, Omega-3 supplements have been shown to lower blood triglyceride levels and blood pressure. Some studies have shown a slight increase in both LDL and HDL Cholesterol. This applies to all Omega-3 supplements including ours.
Re. Omega-3 - Can you confirm this is only high oleic oil and advise the percentage of the consumed oil which is in the bottle or per serving. To confirm there is no standard sunflower oil. Is the high oleic oil extraction via a heated or pressed process?Hi, yes we use high Oleic Sunflower Oil. It is a tiny amount and is used solely as a process aid during preparation of the Algal Omega-3 Oil. The level in our Omega-3 formula is very small, equating to approximately 20mg per serving.
Hi there
Looking for a low oxidisation Omega 3 supplement with high DHA and EPA levels, Felt I had found the answer with your product untill I found it contained Helianthus Annuus Oil which is sunflower Oil.
I cut out all seed Oils in my diet a couple of years ago as they are a staple of all UPF and extremely processed and also oxidise very easily causing oxidative stress. Removing Seed oils actually resolved multiple inflammatory conditions for me without medication, they were the cause of a chronic illness so should not be present in somthing which promotes health, Poly unsaturated fats are prone to Oxidisation by their very chemical nature so adding a further unstable poly unsaturated fat doesnt seem to make much sense unless its high Oleic sunflower oil which is more stable as its a mono unsaturated fat.
Can you confirm the type of Sunflower oil used in your Algea oil supplement as if its standard sunflower Oil I would question the logic in this when it would lead to a more oxidised Oil on a whole, surely a filler with a more stable mono unsaturated oil would make more sense?
Thanks
Samuel.Hi, a very small amount of high Oleic Sunflower Oil is used as a carrier during the production of the Algal Omega-3 Oil. our Omega-3 Oil is produced in controlled conditions to ensure excellent oxidative stability.
Hi!
Can you tell me more about the orange flavor? I realize it's natural but is it something like orange essential oil, or is it a lab synthesized ingredient? (I am on a medical diet than requires I avoid lab synthesized added flavor whether "natural" or not.)Hi, it is from natural orange oil, not synthesised.
Do you know why different websites which sell this product state a different posology when it comes to which dose is recommended for babies and infants? Some websites state the same dosage you wrote, some others recommend an even lower dosage for children younger than 3 years. Hi, Omega-3 recommended doses differ regionally according to different authorities but most are advisory rather than strict guidelines. We base our recommendations on available data and with advice from our local authorities here in UK.
Apparently omega 3 supplements are stripped of polyphenols in the manufacturing process, but these are essential for transporting the omega 3 throughout the body. How do you resolve this issue?Hi, the link is a factor for Fish Oils but not Algal Oils, where such polyphenols are not important in the propagation of the Omega-3s. Our Omega-3s are in the bioavailable forms of EPA & DHA, ensuring absorption and transit.
Been reading with interest your article on getting DHA thro micro algae. Thank you! A couple of friends have respectively started to eat meat and fish only after decades of being vegetarian and vegan, for these exact reasons.Which varieties of micro algae do you suggest and is it possible to grow at home easily?Hi, we use Schizochytrium species of microalgae. It is not possible to grow this at home and obtain Omega-3, as the growing conditions are essential. Our Omega-3 products provide all of the EPA & DHA required without the need for meat or fish.
You write on your website that your products are third party tested, which is good. Is it possible for you to share the latest test results of your Vegan Omega-3 liquid and capsule products which shows exact amount of pollutants and toxins in your products? I would be very grateful if you could share the test results so that I can decide whether to give it to my children or not.Hi, there are no pollutants or toxins in our Omega-3 oil. The microalgae are grown in tanks at a Pharma-quality facility to allow complete control over purity. This is as opposed to taking microalgae from the oceans and risking contaminants such as heavy metals and dioxins. Plus we don't upset the local aquatic ecosystems.
I have 14 year old child with ADHD - what’s the maximum dose of your vegan omega can I give him? Thanks in advanceHi, our recommendation for your Child is 2 x capsules per day. In Europe the set maximum recommended level for Omega-3 (combined DHA & EPA) is 5000mg. That would be the equivalent of approximately 10 capsules. We hope our formula helps and would love to hear your feedback.
I am in search of omega 3 vegan that is not rancid which is actually hard to find! What steps do you take to help with rancidity of this supplementHi, our Omega-3 formulas are produced under very careful conditions to ensure oxidative stability, and also contain natural antioxidants. We rigorously stability test to ensure stability throughout and beyond the stated shelf-life.
I have been consuming your Omega3 for many years, I would like to know if they contain erucic acid and if so in what quantity. What is the maximum daily amount considered safe for erucic acid? Thank youHi, no our Omega-3 formulas do not contain any Erucic Acid.
I was reading through the questions listed on your website but didn't see the answer to something on my mind. I was wondering where your water is sourced from for growing the algae.
I am asking because another company/manufacturer said they are sustainable because they use wastewater from a geothermal plant. And another one from underground salt aquifers but looking into it I got concerns for water quality and some areas in those states had contamination issues from military and other sources.
I know you haven't written that you do that, but it got me to thinking that depending on water source, even if not ocean, it could have contaminantes. I have read you do heavy metal testing but could you please share your water source, and whether there could there be also radioactive materials also (and if that is tested). Some areas have that issue due to where they are located.Hi, the water is from the local supply but goes through a deionising and purification process to ensure it is of high purity and with no contaminants. The European location is not at risk of radioactive material.
I am very interested in your Vegan Omega-3 Orange Flavoured Supplements as a vegan recovering from a concussion. I noticed coconut oil is listed as an ingredient in the comments. Due to severe, life-threatening allergies (anaphylaxis) to the following, could you please confirm if the product contains ANY of these ingredients or traces of them? Pistachios, Cashews, Walnuts, Peas, BarleyHi, our Omega-3 supplements don't contain any Pistachios, cashews, walnuts, peas or barley. They also don't contain any Coconut Oil or derivatives. We do use Medium Chain Triglycerides from coconut in some formulas (mainly our VitD3 Sprays) but this doesn't appear in our Omega-3 formulas.
Hi. Is your vegan dha epa orange flavored liquid supplement free of : dairy, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, mustard, seeds (flax)? Thanks!Hi, all of our products are free from dairy, eggs, peanuts, mustard and flax seeds. We do use tree nuts in some of our products (Medium Chain Triglyceride, extracted from Coconut Oil) however we do not use that in our Omega-3 formulas.
Is your Liquid Omega 3 DHA/EPA supplement contained in a dark glass bottle or is the bottle plastic? Also, I live on the East Coast of the United States (North Carolina), how long would the shipping process take and what shipping carrier do you use? Thank you in advance for your prompt response.Hi, our Omega-3 Liquid products are supplied in Brown Glass bottles. Shipping to USA usually takes 7-14 working days. You can find out more about shipping times and policies by following the link at the bottom of our webpages. Carriers are subject to change as their pricing (and performance!) fluctuate greatly.
Hi,
If i am planning pregnancy is it safe to continue using this produkt? Do you have any data on this?Hi, our Pregnancy formula + Omega-3 is a fantastic and highly beneficial daily combination. This is perfectly safe as the formulas compliment each other.
I am specifically inquiring about lead cadmium arsenic and mercury levels. If you cannot provide a COA can you please give me the limits that you guys have for these. I just want some transparency.Hi, our Omega-3 oil is free of heavy metals, beyond trace levels. This is because the microalgae are grown in tanks at a specialist facility rather than taken from (polluted, heavy metal rich) oceans. We do test every batch for heavy metals as part of the quality assurance, just to pick-up any possibility of trace quantities. The specification is: Lead (max 0.1ppm), Cadmium (max. 0.1ppm), Arsenic (max. 0.1ppm) and Mercury (max. 0.04ppm). To date the measured levels have always been below the level of detection (LoD).
Hello
I need this product , so how long it will take to deliver at Adelaide ,5081Hi, you can find delivery information via the link at the foot of the website. Delivery to Australia is usually around 14 working days from order.
Hi! I want to give this to my kids - is there enough Vitamin D in it or should I be giving them another supplement as well to ensure they get enough Vitamin D?Hi, we’ve added a maintenance level (5mcg / 200iu) of Vitamin D3 per daily dose of our Omega-3 products. Depending on the time of year, many people choose to take higher Vit D3 intake too.
Hi there, I've been recommended to take Cod Liver Oil because I need to take 1000mg of Omega 3 and vitamin D and Vitamin A. I was told to take Rosita's Cod Liver Oil as it contains all these and also Ghee to get Vitamin E. However, I'm vegan and don't want to eat Cod Liver Oil or Ghee if I can help it. I have bought your Omega 3 already in capsule form and liquid form too. What can I buy to get the Vitamin A? And if you're still reading the Vitamin E too..many thanks xHi, it is worth considering taking a combination of our Omega-3 (liquid or capsule) together with our MultiVit. This will provide all of the nutrients you are being advised to take, plus much more.
Hi. Does your liquid Omega 3 come with a stopper in the lid or does one need to pour out onto a spoon &/or directly onto food, for example, porridge? Thanks in advance!Hi, there is no stopper so you do need to pour it onto a spoon or food.
Can you please tell me how many mls of this product I'd have to take to equal 1,100 mg of omega 3 daily? That is how much my doctor suggested and I realize it is 5ml for 835 mg. Is it safe to take that serving with this product?Hi, you will need to take 6.5ml to obtain 1100mg total Omega-3. It is safe to consume that level of our product each day.
What is the name of the micro algae you use in your vegan omega 3 please?Hi, we use Schizochytrium sp.
Hi,
Is your Omega‑3 Liquid (Mild Orange Flavour)
Organic?
ThanksHi, when it comes to purity, zero pesticides, and no negative environmental impact, our Omega-3 is above and beyond Organic. As the algae are grown in tanks at a specialist facility rather than taken from the ground (or seas), Organic certifiers won't consider it. There are quite a few inconsistencies when it comes to the whole topic of Organic to be honest!
Hello, are you able to advise if this contains soya please? I'm considering purchase for my toddler. Thanks in advanceHi, the formula does not contain any soy or soy derivatives
Hi, couple of questions: I have acid reflux and fish oils tend to upset my stomach, so I've been looking for alternative options to get omega 3. Do you know if the olive oil in yours tends to be better at not triggering acid reflux? And my doctor is recommending I take 2100mg on omega 3 per day, I see your recommended daily does has a little over 800mg. Is it okay to take more than your recommended daily dose?Hi, we typically find our Omega-3 products very agreeable with individuals prone to acid reflux. The Olive Oil in the Liquid Omega-3 is extra virgin and very high purity. This does have natural anti-inflammatory properties in its own right. It is fine to boost the daily intake to meet the recommendation of your Doctor. 2100mg is a very high dose, so the one query we would have is why such a high dose is required. Data suggest our level of approx. 835mg to already be high strength.
Hi, my oil got cloudy and viscous after 2 weeks stored in the fridge. Is it off or still save to consume?Hi, it is totally fine. Your refrigerator must be on a very low temperature setting. Some of the fatty acids in the Omega-3 oil start to solidify when getting very cold. If you allow the liquid to thaw at ambient temperature (and give it a little shake) you will notice it goes completely clear and non-viscous again. Storage at lower temperature is good for extending the stability of the Omega-3 liquid, despite the appearance at the time!
Where is your algae oil from ? The actual source ?Hi, the algae are grown in tanks at a specialist facility. The source is Schizochytrium sp.
Can dogs take this supplement? What’s your recommended dosage? Thanks.Hi, yes we have a lot of customers giving our Omega-3 products to pets. For the Bottled Liquid we recommend half teaspoon (2.5ml) per day for small dogs and a full teaspoon (5ml) for larger dogs. For the Capsules, 1 per day for small dogs, 2 per day for large dogs.
Hi
I am wondering why you recommend such a high dose of 2.5ml omega 3 liquid for babies under 2?
The RDI for DHA in infants 6-24 months set by the EFSA is 100 mg / day: https://efsa.onlinelibrary.wil...
The UK legislation on formula milk says that formula milks should provide a minimum of 70 mg and a maximum of 175 mg of DHA per 500 ml of formula (which is the average estimated amount of formula milk between 6-12 months): https://www.legislation.gov.uk...
Most formulas provide around 100 mg per 500 ml.
250 mg of DHA (2.5 ml of Opti 3) is the RDI for children > 2 years and healthy adults, but not for babies. I don't know why you are recommending these higher doses. Can you please provide the reasoning?
Thanks
JamieHi, advice on DHA (and EPA) intake for babies and infants differs greatly in different regions around the world. We have studied the advice from UK, European and US authorities in particular. Many regions suggest 0-12 months (0-15lb) should take a combined 500mg EPA+DHA per day, with 12-36 months (15-40lbs) 800mg EPA+DHA per day. Some limitations on levels are related to fish source too, and the possibility of undesirable accompanying compounds, which don't apply to our product. Taking everything into account, we recommend 2.5ml, which provides 250mg DHA and 150mg EPA per day. Should parents wish to reduce further, 1.25ml provides 125mg DHA and 75mg EPA.
Hi, I'm very happy with the oil after taking it for a month. Could you please send the full ingredients list including what strains of micro algae?
Thank you!Hi, the full ingredient lists are on the product pages of the Vegetology website (and on the product labels). We use Schizochytrium species microalgae.
Please can you let me know more about how the the sea algae is grown? I understand it is in a lab, but are the conditions otherwise as natural as possible i.e. sea water, sunlight and organic? Many thanksHi, the algae are grown in large tanks in a sea water media and with carefully controlled lighting conditions. The growth is organic in terms of purity (i.e. nothing else goes in, no pesticides required etc.).
why dont you use flax oil in your Omega‑3 Liquid instead of olive oil, as olive oil is high in Omega 6?Hi, we need the antioxidant power of the Olive Oil (we use an Extra Virgin grade with high AO content) in order to keep the microalgal Omega-3 stable. Flax wouldn't do the job at all unfortunately.
Can you take the drops in coffee? How many drops per day? Thank you.Hi, we don't recommend adding Omega-3 to hot drinks, as the the polyunsaturated fatty acids may be damaged by the heat. It is best to take directly or consider adding to cold foods.
Hi, what is the daily dose of the omega 3 liquid supplement for 2.6 years and 4.3 years children. Thank youHi, we advise 5ml of our Omega-3 liquid per day for children over 24 months. However, please do consult your local guidelines as regional advice differs greatly.
Hello,
I would be interested in buying the Omega 3 liquid product, but wanted to check if it is manufactured to GMP standards and what testing/monitoring is done for quality?
Warm regards,
JoséHi, yes we manufacture all of our products to Food GMP (and BRC) standards. Every batch is produced under strict quality conditions and the product independently tested prior to release.
Omega-3 capsules contain carrageenan so I am considering the liquid form, which doesn't have this ingredient. I read from your answers that Opti3 Liquid is in triglyceride form. I have high triglyceride level and am trying to bring it down to within limits. Will Opti3 Liquid increase my triglyceride level?Hi, no our Omega-3 will not negatively impact triglyceride levels. There's nothing wrong with Carrageenan by the way - we've written about this a few times in our FAQs. It wrongly gets mixed with data only relevant to polygeenan :-)
What form is your omega 3 liquid in please? I've heard that the triglyceride form is most absorbant.Hi, yes that's correct. We use Omega-3 in the Triglyceride form
Hi,is the olive oil used in the liquid omega 3 extra virgin?Hi, yes it is. This is vital to help ensure protection of the Algal Oil against oxidative damage. The taste isn't too 'sharp' (as can be the case sometimes for Extra Virgin Olive Oil).
Hi I am wondering if your vegan omega 3, 300 EPA 5OO DHA supplement is cold pressed. And if not, what is the extraction method?Hi, we use an enzyme extraction method. Cold pressing isn't possible because the microalgae are too small
Hi There, can you tell me what are the benefits of taking the liquid form of Omega-3 over the capsules? Hi, Omega-3 Liquid is directly equivalent to the Capsules in terms of dose and performance. The sole difference is it helps individuals who prefer to not take capsules. This includes children and the elderly.
Can you take the Omega 3, Joint support, Active Energy and the Multi vitamin together for 9 months?Hi, we recommend using some of these formulas sequentially, so our advice would be to consider e.g. Omega-3 + Multivitamin on Monday, Omega-3 + Bone Care on Tuesday, Omega-3 + Active Energy on Wednesday, repeat. This allows you to enjoy the cumulative benefits but avoids undesirable doubling up of some of the nutrients.
Hi
Can you please tell me what the orange flavour is made from in the omega 3 liquid product?Hi, we use Orange Oil itself. The level is very low and designed to take the edge off the Algal Oil taste rather than particularly give an Orange taste. We are also offering an unflavoured oil option.
Hi please provide in percentages the proportions of microalga oil, olive oil and sunflower oil.Hi, Omega-3 Liquid is comprised of approximately 40% Microalgal oil (of which a very small portion is Sunflower Oil: as a process aid in the preparation) and 60% Olive Oil. Exact levels vary.
Do you batch test your products for gluten, and if so to what level (20 ppm, 10 ppm, etc.)? 2) Where do you source you algae from? 3) What is the source of your orange flavoring? 4) Is your product considered safe during pregnancy?Hi, to answer your questions:
1) Yes we do test for gluten and Omega-3 Liquid is completely gluten-free. It is not a risk item, so the level is zero.
2) Our algae are grown in tanks at a Pharmaceutical-quality facility. This avoids toxins from the oceans.
3) We use Orange Oil itself as the flavouring. It is also an important part of the stabilising system.
4) Omega-3 Liquid is perfect during Pregnancy and is not only safe, but highly beneficial to Mum and Baby,
Hello, I am a nutritionist. I often recommend (and take!) your Omega-3. I would like to recommend it (liquid form) for a vegan child who is 2.5 years old. Should I recommend 2.5 ml (half a teaspoon) until her 3rd birthday, or should she already take 5ml (1 teaspoon)? Many thanksHi, thank you for recommending Omega-3! We advise 2.5ml (half a teaspoon) from 0-24 months and then 5ml (full tea spoon) from that point onwards.
Can you guarantee there is no iodine at all in this product? I have thyroid problems so must avoid it. Could you please list exactly what each of the ingredients are made from as I have multiple food allergies/intolerances?Hi, yes we can guarantee no Iodine. While Iodine is found in Macroalgae (seaweeds), we use Oil extracted from Microalgae, and it doesn't contain any Iodine at all. Omega-3 consists of Omega-3 EPA and DHA from Schizochtyrium sp. microalgae, Olive Oil and a tiny amount of Orange Oil. The Omega-3 microalgal Oil preparation contains a small amount of high Oleic Sunflower Oil as an important carrier, and Vitamin C and Rosemary (both very small amount) as antioxidants.
Following on from previous q - Is this oil cold pressed and organic?
What about the olives used for the olive oil are they cold pressed and organic?Hi, hopefully you saw our previous answer to your question. No the extraction process is not cold-pressing (that is typically used for things like seed oils). As our algae are grown in tanks rather than taken from the ocean, the process is not considered as Organic by certifiers. It is crazy really because from a purity perspective, what we do is beyond organic.
We do use cold-pressed Olive Oil in Omega-3 Liquid. It is not a certified Organic source though (although is produced Organically).

I am concern about the olive oil in the bottle. I believe it contains omega 6 which should not be with an omega 3 supplement as it work against it. Is it the case ?Hi, Olive Oil is 85% monounsaturated fat, with minimal Omega-6 (and indeed Omega-3). The level of Omega-6 within Omega-3 Liquid is low and doesn't interfere with the beneficial dose of Omega-3s
When shipping internationally, do you maintain the appropriate temperature for the product to keep its beneficial properties?Hi, we perform extensive stability testing to ensure our products remain nutritionally active throughout the shelf life. This testing takes into account 'worst case scenarios' in terms of transit and storage temperatures (and humidity).
Does it last long while close? How long? Does the omega 3 oxidates while open?
Hi, unopened Omega-3 Liquid has a shelf-life of 24 months if stored in a cool, dry location (a cupboard or ideally refrigerator). Once opened, we recommend consuming within 8 weeks. If refrigerated, this can be extended to 12 weeks. The formula has built-in antioxidant protection to delay oxidative damage, and this formed a central part of our testing.
Can you please tell me if any of your products contains mushrooms as I'm as allergic as some are to peanuts. I'm allergic to fish oil so to find these, I need to check first.Hi, no our products do not contain mushrooms. Omega-3 is a great alternative for individuals with fish allergies.
Can I combine Omega-3 Liquid with Vitashine spray for my 6,5 month old baby ?Hi, for babies (under 24 months) we recommend 2.5ml (half a tea spoon) of Omega- 3 Liquid per day. That will provide 250mg DHA, 150mg EPA and 100iu Vitamin D3. It is fine to add Vitashine Spray if you are seeking a higher dose of Vitamin D3 (each individual spray pump is 200iu) but we recommend speaking to your Doctor first when considering higher doses.
Hello, I am wondering if there's a difference between the bioavailability of Omega-3 capsule vs Omega-3 liquid. Hi, there is no difference in bioavailability or dose. Both contain the same amount of DPA too. The capsules don't contain the extra virgin olive oil as the capsule itself provides sufficient protection from oxidation whereas in the liquid form we need the Olive to offer this protection.
Are you aware of any customers who have tried massaging the oil into their skin?
I am nil by mouth but would like to try to increase my levels of EPA and DHA in an attempt to combat palmitate induced muscle atrophy.
If you know of no other attempts, do you believe it could be absorbed?
I currently use evening primrose oil and flaxseed on alternate days which do seem to have improved my health but I want to now try this for the specific problem.
Kind regards
Wayne.Hi, Omega-3 fatty acids have been shown to benefit the skin with soothing / anti-inflammatory properties, however to be honest we suspect such attributes will only happen on the very outer layers (Stratum Corneum and Epidermis). It is worth a try, but we are doubtful you will achieve sufficient penetration for benefits at muscle level.
What is the recommended dose for pregnant women?Hi, we recommend 5ml (one teaspoon) per day, which will provide 500mg DHA, 300mg EPA.
Once opened, do you need to store it in the fridge? Or is a cool dry place outside the fridge fineHi, storage of Omega-3 Liquid in the fridge is ideal and will maintain its freshness for longer. However, storage in a cool dry place outside the fridge is fine and we tested stability extensively in this condition.
Hi, I just wanted to check the fat content of this product, as olive oil is very high in fat. Hi, the total fat per serving is 4.42g.
When adding to food, is it ok with both hot and cold food? E.g. is it heat stable if added to hot porridge, or does this affect the product?Hi, adding to hot food is fine. Please just avoid long periods of exposure (so for instance don't put in the oven or microwave, instead stirring into hot food just prior to consuming it).
Does the strian of algea you use
Schizochytrium produce the algea oil of the compostion of EPA and DHA as in the final product? I thought that it produces only DHA with small amount of EPA.Hi, yes we obtain both EPA and DHA from Schizochytrium alga. We have managed to achieve a much higher EPA yield.
Are Triglycerides difficult for the body to absorb? How do you guarantee absorbency at levels which provide results?Hi, Algal Omega-3 (Triglyceride form) has been tested extensively to ensure absorption and bioavailability. This was a major consideration before achieving approval by regulatory authorities worldwide. Europe (EFSA), USA (EFSA) and Australia (TGA) being among the most stringent. The growing bank of data and results over the past decade shows overwhelming evidence of excellent efficacy.
Can I safely take this supplement at the same time as the 1,000 IU Vitamin D3?Hi, the recognised upper safe limit for daily Vitamin D3 is 4,000iu, so the combination you refer to here is well below this. Most Doctors and Health Professionals believe we should be taking 1,000iu+ every day. We are always lobbying to try and persuade authorities to increase the European NRV from 200iu, which is now universally considered to be too low.
Hi please can you tell me if this product contains carrageenan?Hi, no Omega-3 Liquid doesn't contain any carrageenan.
Can I give this to my baby alongside a multi vitamin that already contains vitamin d?Please check the combined level of Vitamin D isn't too high. If you give your Baby 2.5ml (half tea spoon) of Omega-3 Liquid, that will provide 2.5mcg (100iu) Vitamin D3. As long as the combined level that includes the multivitamin is around 5-7.5mcg, that will be fine. It is best to consult your Doctor though when combining supplements.
Where to you find the algaeHi, we grow the algae in tanks at a Pharma-quality facility. That allows complete control over purity and quality, plus means we don't need to negatively impact ocean ecosystems
Is Omega-3 liquid gluten free? Is it recommended for dry eyes? I am currently taking Udo’s oil. How does this differ?Hi, yes Omega-3 Liquid is gluten free. Data does suggest Omega-3 DHA can be beneficial for individuals with dry eyes.
The product you mention is a blend of vegetable oils, which do not contain any Omega-3 EPA or DHA. Omega-3 as ALA is significantly less effective (the body needs to convert it into EPA, which has a very low conversion rate, and DHA, which is even lower). We are very confident that as an Omega-3 supplement, you will be very satisfied as it delivers the correct forms of Omega-3 for the body, in high doses.
Which bodies have approved your products?Hi, the main regulations we work to are European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Australia Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) regulations, and we're audited accordingly. Auditing is conducted by local and international authorities.
Hi can a 6 month old use this? If so what would the dosage be?Hi, for babies and infants up to 24 months we recommend 2.5ml (half teaspoon) per day, then moving to the normal adult dose of 5ml (full teaspoon) from 24 months.
Are any of the ingredients derived from corn? No, Omega-3 capsules and Omega-3 Liquid don't contain any corn or corn derivatives.
Hi! I really like the taste of your Omega-3 Liquid. I was wondering how much sunflower oil is in there in % ? Can you tell?
Yours, all the best
StefanHi, the sunflower oil level is low, as that is only used as an important carrier during the Algal Omega-3 production (we use a high Oleic Sunflower). The actual level of Sunflower Oil in a 5ml / teaspoon dose is approximately 30mg. The primary oil in Omega-3 Liquid is Olive Oil, which we chose as it is smooth and very good at protecting the Algal Omega-3 for stability.
Would you be making an Omega 3 product that does not contain Vitamin D3?Hi, we don't have plans to do that at the moment. We add a small amount of Vitamin D3 as a maintenance dose, but it is low enough where Omega-3 can be combined with other supplements (i.e. if individuals are obtaining additional Vitamin D3 from other sources too). A key reason we include Vitamin D3 is because virtually all Fish Oil Omega-3 supplements contain a dose of D3 and we want to encourage as many fish oil users as possible to move to Omega-3. Every bottle of Omega-3 versus an equivalent bottle of Fish Oil Omega-3 saves around 50 fish!
Does it work out more expensive or less expensive than the capsules? Its the same price, so identical dose-for-dose value.
How you prevent oxidation of the omega 3 in liquid form? How long last the bottle after opening? We’ve had to create a completely enclosed system from oil production to bottle, with temperature control. The process and added Antioxidant Vitamin E protects from oxidation during its shelf life.
After opening we recommend consuming within 8 weeks. Refrigeration prolonged freshness.
What does it taste like?If you have tasted Olive Oil, that is the main way to describe it. The Algal Omega-3 EPA and DHA does have a 'marine' taste, which we've limited by manufacturing in a controlled way and adding a hint of Orange oil to mask the marine taste. We've mixed our Algal Omega-3 EPA and DHA into Olive Oil, as Olive helps to protect and keep it fresh. Olive Oil can cause some people to have a slight and temporary burning sensation in the throat, but this is perfectly normal.
