If you suffer from migraines, it might be due to a deficiency in Vitamin D according to new research.
Researchers from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Centre measured the blood Vitamin D levels (an some other vitamins) of young patients with migraines. They found a high percentage of individuals tested showed deficiencies in Vitamin D.
While more research is needed to further validate this, and a widespread study would be needed to demonstrate whether regular Vitamin D supplementation could prevent migraines, it is certainly welcome news to individuals prone to migraines. According to The Migraine Trust, 3,000 miraine attacks occur every day for each million of the general population. That equates to over 190,000 migraine attacks every day in the UK alone!
